Econock is a contemporary accessories label rooted in the belief that ethical luxury and circular design are not just compatible, but essential. The name is a blend of "Eco," representing mindful design rooted in nature, and a door "knock," symbolizing the ripple effect of conscious decision-making. Econock stands for opportunity, transformation, and collaboration. It aims to spark a collective consciousness toward the impact of design, inviting consumers, artisans, and industries alike to engage in meaningful change.
Econock was founded in 2022. Econock was born to reposition Upcycling in the luxury market. We saw immense potential being lost—upcycled products were often reduced to patchwork, lacking refinement and unable to compete in the luxury space. This sparked a question: What if sustainability could meet sophistication? Inspired by this challenge, we procured 1,000 kg of discarded materials and brought together a team rich in production experience and bold in design thinking. That’s how our design-wise philosophy was born—where every piece tells a story of reinvention, not compromise.
Econock is built on India's heritage of intuition-led craft and innovative making. The label collaborates with artisans and local karigars to reinterpret age-old skills through a global lens. Econock is uniquely Indian in its ability to navigate scarcity with creativity, reframe tradition through contemporary design, and lead with authenticity. It represents a new kind of Indian design, one that is rooted, responsive, and radically optimistic.
Our philosophy draws from India’s legacy of resistance—a heritage of questioning, crafting, and standing firm in the face of change. We honour the tradition of making with intention, where every stitch is a choice and every scar tells a story.
At Econock Studio, we see accessories as armor—worn by those who challenge norms, protect the earth, and create with conscience. We work with reclaimed leather, embracing imperfections as marks of survival. Our pieces are not just beautiful—they're bold. Structured silhouettes, raw edges, and contrast stitching reflect the spirit of a culture that finds strength in its contradictions and elegance in its resilience. This is Indian design that doesn’t conform—it declares.
Econock was founded by Ribhav Kapur, a fashion professional with 16 years of experience in sustainable design and production. He has worked with some of India’s leading design houses including Manish Arora Paris and Object & Dawn. With degrees from NIFT and Malmö University, Ribhav has led product and sustainability initiatives across categories.
Gouri Rawat, an artist-designer, serves as the creative mind behind Econock’s visual language. Together, they share a commitment to transforming discarded materials into future-forward design. Their shared belief is that impact and design can and must coexist.
The Econock team brings together a rich mix of experiences across fashion, production, design, sustainability, craftsmanship, and storytelling. Ribhav’s journey through the luxury fashion industry sharpened his focus on the need for regenerative design and mindful systems. Gouri’s foundation in lifestyle and accessory design evolved into a practice of visual storytelling as a means to build awareness and impact. Aleem, with years of experience in the leather industry, brings deep material knowledge and an instinct for transforming waste into high-fashion silhouettes. Together, their diverse backgrounds root the brand in both strategic thinking and creative purpose.
Econock emerged from a belief that fashion must engage with the environmental realities of our time. For Ribhav, the turning point was a project with a European installation brand that challenged him to create something meaningful from limited materials. That experience made him realize that scarcity breeds innovation. Econock was a way to channel their creativity into systems change, starting with what already exists.
Yes. Our work is deeply informed by years of collaboration with craft clusters, artisans, and upcycling units across India. These inspirations have shaped our understanding of not only the techniques, but also the mindsets and values embedded in traditional making. We continue to work with and learn from regional craftspeople, and many of our artisans have been trained through this journey to adopt new circular practices.
Econock is powered by a close-knit team of designers, makers, and thinkers who share a vision for conscious and future-forward design. Ribhav brings a strong foundation in sustainability, systems thinking, and material innovation, while Gouri leads the brand’s creative direction with her intuitive approach to design and storytelling. Aleem, our in-house leather expert, heads the workshop with deep technical expertise. Noorhasan, our embroidery artisan, runs a micro-unit that continues to train and skill workers in intricate embroidery. Sanya manages our visual communications, and Sanyam drives our growth and partnership initiatives. Our extended network includes Phul Babu, Saleem, and Mashroor, artisans from diverse communities who have embraced upcycling and modular techniques.
Collaboration is central to our model. Our in-house karigars are trained in Econock’s design processes and have become more aware of sustainable and circular techniques than many industry veterans. We believe in expanding this circle and empowering hands that are often left out of mainstream fashion narratives.
We are proud to be part of the United Nations Fashion and Lifestyle Network and to have worked with Nitin Bal Chauhan for FDCI Men’s Fashion Week. Our journey has been shaped by the support of collaborators, sustainability advocates, and artisan communities who have believed in our mission from the start.
Our techniques combine traditional craftsmanship with modern utility. We use leather offcut patterning, appliqué, hand-finishing, modular hardware integration, and innovative material bonding. Every product is designed to retain the raw integrity of its source material while elevating its form and function.
Our design philosophy is rooted in reuse and reinvention. Each technique has evolved to suit the constraints and possibilities of the materials we work with.
Most of our materials are deadstock or discarded by manufacturers and tanneries. We use surplus threads, ghost nets, cork sheets, and reclaimed leather. We prioritize local sourcing whenever possible to reduce carbon footprint and support regional economies.
Circularity is the foundation of everything we do. We follow slow and intentional design processes, avoid overproduction, and create systems that repurpose waste. Our pricing reflects fair wages, not just for artisans but also for our small in-house team. We believe sustainability is not a value-add it is the very starting point of design.
We follow a lean production model. Our drops are limited in number and often made to order. We create templates for ergonomic, minimal-waste products that are easily adaptable. Our goal is to create timeless accessories that age well, travel well, and evolve with the user.
Econock’s design is rooted in intelligent maximalism. We embrace bold textures, ergonomic patterns, and functional details while reducing material usage. Our designs are modular, adaptable, and layered with storytelling.
People who value both expression and impact. Our wearer is curious, conscious, and not afraid to stand out. They ask where their accessories came from and where they are going.
We view tradition as a tool, not a style. Our work is not about nostalgia but about continuity. We use traditional skills to solve present-day design challenges and reinterpret those skills into forms that belong to the future.
Made in India is a reminder of the ingenuity, depth, and resilience of our culture. For us, it also means responsibility to honor the resources and people we work with. India has long practiced circularity, and we believe our country is poised to lead the next wave of ethical design on the global stage.
Yes. Our work is shaped by the quiet ingenuity embedded in Indian culture, from the functional themes of everyday objects to the enduring symbolism of Indian armour. We draw inspiration from the adaptability of bootstrapped ventures and the inventive spirit of close-knit communities who innovate out of necessity. India teaches us how structure and innovation can emerge from chaos, and we translate that wisdom into design that is both thoughtful and deeply responsive.
Our vision for the future is rooted in scale, depth, and shared purpose. At Econock, we believe the future of fashion lies in ecosystems, not egos. That belief has led to the birth of the Econock Collective - a growing network of artisans, designers, material researchers, and conscious collaborators who are united by a commitment to circular design and regenerative systems. We are building not just a brand but a platform that champions mindful making and modular innovation. As we expand, we aim to:
Design with purpose – By continuing to push the boundaries of upcycled materials and intelligent silhouettes, we are creating accessories and objects that are utilitarian, expressive, and future-facing.
Collaborate with intent – The Econock Collective allows us to co-create with new partners and communities. From regional artisans to global sustainability advocates, these partnerships help scale solutions for waste, revive overlooked techniques, and introduce new narratives into design.
Shift the industry – We envision a design ecosystem where waste is the starting point, not the afterthought. By offering pre-developed sustainable materials, craft innovation, and modular systems, we want to empower other brands to embed circularity from the beginning.
Empower and educate – Through the collective, we will also focus on capacity building, community empowerment, and shared learning. We hope to build skill-based economies around waste that can create long-term impact, especially for marginalised makers.
The Econock Collective is our call to action. It is how we imagine scaling values before volumes and designing a future that is beautiful, ethical, and inclusive by design.
Yes. Our upcoming launches include a home goods line and a neo-tribal men’s accessory collection. It is a bold, primal, and structural take on gender neutrality reinterpreted through the lens of reclaimed leather, modular design, and futuristic utility. It reflects the next evolution of Econock’s design story.
