Raga&Co - The uniqueness contributes to our craftsmanship and each product is infused with passion and harmonious self-expression via the eloquent use of “raag” or colour.

Raga&Co was founded in 2020. The founder was captivated by the intricate Kunbi weave, a fascination that blossomed into a profound love for handcrafted textiles.

Who is the founder? Please share a short personal introduction & what inspired you to start this brand?

Raga&Co, the brainchild of Sonali Salkar is inspired by the rich tapestry of Goa's vibrant culture and its significant Portuguese influences. Growing up in the quaint village of Khandepar, Sonali was captivated by the intricate Kunbi weave, a fascination that blossomed into a profound love for handcrafted textiles. This passion ignited her journey into the world of fashion in 1991, long before terms like "sustainable" and "organic" became the cornerstones of modern fashion.

From the outset, Sonali dedicated herself to creating clothing that marries contemporary aesthetics with traditional craftsmanship. Her motto is simple yet profound: to bring contemporary clothing to life through time-honored techniques.

As the years have gone by, Sonali's commitment to her craft resonated deeply with her daughters, Rama and Gayatri. Seeing the potential to amplify their mother's legacy and passion, they encouraged her to establish Raga&Co in 2020. This brand embodies the confluence of modern design and traditional artistry, rooted in the ethos of sustainability and respect for the artisans' craft.

Inspired from the land of Goa, we use colour blocks to represent the Goan landscape.
